InMobi & Perform Announce Mobile Ad Sales Partnership For Goal.com In Africa
Mobile ad network InMobi has inked a mobile ad sales partnership in Africa with digital sports media group Perform, for its football news website Goal.com, the world's largest football website which claims to have over 20 million monthly unique users. This partnership covers all African traffic to m.goal.com, the mobile version of Goal.com.
InMobi claims to reach 340 million customers in more than 165 countries, through over 47 billion monthly ad impressions and aims to sell over half a billion mobile ad impressions this year from traffic to m.goal.com because of the 2012 African Cup of Nations in January and February.
Goal.com's mobile version offers live scores, match details, team schedules, standings and football news coverage among others, in multiple languages. It offers customized English language editions for America, UK, Singapore, Ireland, India, Singapore and Malaysia, in addition to 16 other languages and an International edition.
"As the world's largest football website with over 20 million unique users each month, we needed a mobile ad network with the necessary scale and reach to match the size and ambition of our operation,"
commented Daryn Wober, managing director, global business development at Perform. "Furthermore we needed a partner who has experience working with the growing African mobile advertising industry as we continue to grow our business in the region," he added.
In September last year, InMobi had raised $200 million in a Series C funding round from Japanese telecom and internet company, Softbank Corporation. Also, the company just recently acquired the US-based ad software developer Sprout, that allows advertisers and publishers to build, serve and measure rich media HTML5 ads, under one umbrella.
"Our extensive network, combined with this agreement with Goal.com, gives us unrivalled reach across the whole of the African continent to help us deliver our target impressions each month. Partnering with such a high-profile premium site continues to reinforce InMobi's reputation amongst publishers as a truly global premium ad network, and we are looking forward to working with Goal.com to bring mobile ads to consumers across all of Africa," said Rob Jonas, VP & MD, EME, InMobi in an official press release.
