InMobi Appoints Marketing Director For APAC Region
Bangalore-based mobile ad network InMobi has appointed Anita Swan as regional marketing director for Asia Pacific. In this capacity, Swan will spearhead the company's marketing strategy for the region alongside the global executive team.
InMobi is the world's second-largest mobile advertising network after Google. The five year old firm has also been on the lookout for a person to spearhead its overall India business.
According to the company, Swan will be responsible for expanding InMobi's marketing efforts in South East Asia, China, Korea, Australia, New Zealand and India with the local marketing teams in these markets. She brings with her over nine years of experience in the telecommunications space in the Asia Pacific region and a further seven years in the digital advertising space.
Swan's LinkedIn account states she joined the firm in last November, but a formal announcement by the company happened recently.
Prior to joining InMobi she was head of marketing, Asia Pacific at Alcatel-Lucent. In the past she has also worked with Vodafone, Digicel and Telstra among others.
"Asia Pacific is home to some of the fastest growing mobile markets and InMobi has done an exceptional job establishing its leadership in the region. I'm very excited to be part of an amazing team and to be brought into the fold as the company powers up for greater growth in Asia Pacific," stated Swan.
InMobi is backed by investors like Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Sherpalo Ventures. Last September the company struck the biggest ever funding deal in the mobile Internet space in India landing $200 million investment from Japan's Softbank. More about that here.
