BSNL Launches TRUST Card For Utility Payments With Itz Cash Card
State-owned telecom firm Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has launched TRUST Card with the partnership of Itz Cash Card.
Trust Card can be used to pay online bills of electricity, telephone, cooking gas, mobile, water, rail/air tickets booking, pay for DTH subscription etc. BSNL subscribers will also be able to make payments for postpaid bills, prepaid top-ups and BSNL value added services like Hello TV Subscription, BSNL Hello Tunes (ring back tune) etc. To begin with there are about more than 1,000 billers.
Initially, the cards have been launched in Chandigarh, Kolkata, Pune and Chennai and later will be launched in other areas of the country.
The cards will be available on BSNL retail outlets and ItzCash World outlets in the range of Rs 250, Rs 500 and Rs 1,000. The users can use the card and also reload the card with refill vouchers facility which will also be available at the BSNL retail outlets.
BSNL has also launched Hello TV for all PC/data card users enabling them to watch more than 50 Live TV channels, movies (in various languages) and videos. The non-BSNL users can use this service by subscribing through TRUST Card. Live TV channels have monthly charges ranging between Rs 29 and Rs 99, based on the package and the service is available on daily and weekly basis also. The service will be free for BSNL GSM subscribers for first month and the free offer is valid till Feb 17, 2012.
"These two new services are supposed to bring value and compliment the services that we provide to our customers. The fact that both these services can be used by any citizen of India add new features to the service portfolio of BSNL," said RK Upadhyay, CMD of BSNL.
"With appropriate pricing, marketing and business development strategy, in addition to generating revenues, BSNL Hello TV will enhance BSNL brand image and also go a long way in boosting adoption and uptake of data cards," Viraj Malik, CEO, PK Online expressed.
Last year in August, BSNL launched a mobile application 'Digital Mandi' to target agri business sector.
