Iris Developer Dexetra Partners With ChaCha To Power Answers

Bangalore-based mobile app developer Dexetra has joined hands with real-time Q&A service ChaCha for adding a new element to its existing app Iris (that uses artificial intelligence for personalised search on mobile). The agreement will allow users of the voice-powered question-and-answer app to get instant responses asked by them free of cost.

With ChaCha's addition to Iris, questions asked by users will be directed to ChaCha's database, permitting conversational questions to be answered in real time.

"ChaCha's massive database of quality answers will add a lot of value to the Iris app," said Narayan Babu of Dexetra.

Based on one's mobile usage behaviour and various APIs on the Web, Iris uses its proprietary context-building and semantic maps technology to provide answers to users' questions, the statement added.

Last November, Dexetra had raised an undisclosed amount from One97 Mobility Fund (OMF).

Iris for Android smartphones has seen over one million downloads within a month of its launch and has answered tens of millions of user queries.

According to Scott A Jones, chief executive officer  of ChaCha, "We look forward to bringing a new standard of quality to conversational Q&A through this partnership."
