Go Tech Launches Android Tablet For Rs 19,990
The Indian Tablet market has been growing rapidly and that has led to a lot of Indian companies entering the competition like there is no tomorrow. After Olive, HCL, EAFT (Everything at finger tips), Milagrow, Binatone, Infibeam (yes, the online retail firm), among others, it's the turn of Go Tech to launch its new Tablet in the Indian market called Funtab 9.1 Fantasy.
Go Tech is, by the way, a sister company of a small private firm named Gourav Roshni Limited, an Indian electrical control panel manufacturer.
The Tablet runs on the Android Gingerbread operating system and is targeted at the mid price segment of the Indian Tablet market. It is available for a price of Rs 19,990 and comes with a one year warranty (6 months on battery). Customers can buy the Tablet directly from the company's official website, although it will also be available on some of the online ecommerce sites and Big Bazaar stores.
The Tablet has a 9.1inch LED backlit, capacitive multi-touch display and runs on the Android 2.3.1 Gingerbread operating system. It is powered by a 1.2GHz ARM Cortex A-8 processor dual-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB with a SD card.
The Tablet has a 2 mega pixel auto focus rear camera (no mention about video recording capabilities from the company) and a front facing VGA camera for video calling. On the connectivity front, the Tablet has Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi (with Wi-Fi direct) and 3G (supported via external 3G USB dongle) and it also comes with a USB 2.0 port, a mini USB port and a HDMI port. Additionally, the Tablet has Google apps (YouTube, Google Talk, Google calendar etc) and it also has Google maps for navigation.
Go Tech has provided a 5200mAh battery in the Tablet that the company claims will provide more than 12 hours of battery like and 10 hours of internet browsing. The stand by time is 400 hours on 3G and 550 hours on Wi-Fi. Users will have an option between two colours, dark fantasy (black) and choco fantasy (chocolate) for the Tablet. The company is also providing a Tough case (basically a leather case) worth Rs 1,990 free with the Tablet.
If we consider the price of the Tablet, its competitors in India will include HTC Flyer (Rs 23,500), HCL ME AM7-A1 (Rs 18,000), Notion Ink Adam NI3421-A01A (Rs 20,999) and MSI Enjoy 10 (Rs 17,700).
