After launching Acer ICONIA TAB A500 and the Acer ICONIA TAB W500, Acer has further expanded its ICONIA range of Tablets by announcing Acer ICONIA TAB A200. The W500 Tablet runs on the Windows 7 operating system (OS) while A500 runs and the new Tablet run on the Android platform. As of now the exact launch date and price of the Tablet in India has not been revealed by the company.

The Tablet has a 10.1-inch capacitive multitouch display (1280x800 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) OS, although it will be upgradable to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) in January 2012. The company claims that the Tablet will provide improved multitasking with the Acer Ring interface (that puts a selection of applications and utilities chosen by the user at their fingertips, to know more read here).

It is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 2, 1GHz dual-core processor and has 1GB of RAM. Users will have the option of selecting between 8GB and 16GB of internal memory plus a microSD card will be provided for further memory expansion.

The device has a 2 mega pixel web camera for video chats and also features a Screenshot, which enables the user to capture a snap of whatever is on the screen (like web images, articles or people's faces during video calls). This feature can be used in any app on any screen. It also comes with a full size USB port. The ICONIA TAB A200 also includes Acer SocialJogger for better social networking.

Details about the battery have not been provided by the company, although the device will be available in titanium gray or metallic red colours. Since the pricing has also not been disclosed by the company, we cannot actually talk about its direct competitors, but some of the popular 10 inch Tablets available in the Indian market include Apple's iPad 2 (Rs 29,500), Motorola XOOM 2 (price not available) and Samsung's Galaxy Tab 750 (Rs 34,000).
