Samsung Wave 3 Coming To India For Rs 19,600
After Wave 525 and Wave 2, Samsung is bringing the next in line smartphone called Samsung Wave 3 in the Indian market. The price of the mobile phone is Rs 19,600 and it will be available in the country by mid December, according to The Mobile Indian. The device is targeted at the mid-range price segment of the market and is already available in other parts of the world.
The mobile phone has a 4inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (480×800 pixel resolution) and is powered by a 1.4 GHz processor. The device runs on the bada 2.0 operating system (with improved TouchWiz user interface) and the internal memory of the device is 4GB which can be expanded an additional 32GB with the help of a microSD card.
The device has a 5 mega pixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash that can also record high definition (HD) videos (720p) at 30 frames per second and a front facing VGA camera. On the connectivity front, the device has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G and comes with a microUSB 2.0 port. The device also has multitasking (which was absent in Wave 2) and Wi-Fi Direct with which Wi-Fi devices can share content (like pictures and videos etc) without the need of a web connection.
The device also has a stereo FM radio with RDS and comes with GPS with A-GPS support. Additionally, it support HTML5, has improved Flash and has a 1500mAh battery that the company claims will provide the user with more than 14 hours of talk time and up to 535 hours of stand-by time (on 2G). The dimensions of the device are 125.9mm x 64.2mm x 9.9mm and its weight is 122 grams.
The mobile phone will face competition in the Indian market in the same price range from devices like Samsung's own Galaxy S I9000 (Rs 19,999), LG Optimus Black P970 (Rs 18,990), HTC Desire (Rs 18,599), Micromax Superfone A85 (Rs 19,490) and Sony Ericsson Xperia Active ST17i (Rs 18,990).
