One Horizon Group Plc Partners With Voicecom Technologies
One Horizon Group's subsidiary Horizon Globex India Pvt Ltd, that has businesses in optimizing communications over the internet, has joined hands with IT and telecom company Voicecom Technologies Pvt Ltd to market and distribute its Horizon solution in the Indian market.
Based in New Delhi, Voicecom operates in Singapore, Thailand, Nepal and the Philippines. It has over 200 employees who are serving Indian telecoms and countries in the Association of Southeast Asia nations (ASEAN) region. It has worked with Bharti Airtel, Tata and Reliance Group. With this partnership, it will focus on providing the Horizon platform to network operators and service providers in the region.
On the Horizon platform, users can use voice on internet protocol (VoIP) from 2kbps than other 8kbps VoIP platforms. It is also compatible with digital telecommunications system and positioned on satellite, fixed & mobile markets. Based on the company's SmartPacket technology, Horizon includes other data applications such as compressed email, accelerated web browsing and optimised instant messaging. It will help Indian mobile operators about the networks and call dropping problems. On the partnership with Horizon, Voicecom's director Vijay Sharma said that the platform represents an opportunity for telcos and service providers to minimise the volume of data their subscribers consume.
According to Research Firm Point Topic, global growth of fixed-line VoIP services grew 12.6 per cent in 2010 with global revenue at $17.3 billion and expects there to be over three quarters of a billion fixed line broadband subscribers by the end of 2015.
