iBall Enters The Tablet Market With iBall Slide
iBall has entered the Indian tablet market with the launch of iBall Slide, a tablet targeted for the low-price range section of the market. The tablet runs on the Android operating system and is available for Rs 13,995.
The tablet comes with a 7 inch Full capacitive Multi Touch display (800 x 480 pixel resolution) and runs on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS (better than most other mid range tablets because they run on Android Froyo). It is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and has 8GB of internal memory that is expandable up to 32GB (with the help of a MicroSD card).
Other features include a high quality 2 mega pixel front facing camera which can also record videos. It also has a USB port and an HDMI port for data transfer and connectivity and can play HD videos. The tablet also comes with a number of pre-loaded apps that include apps from Moneycontrol, IBNLive, Nimbuzz, CricketNext, RTI INDIA Mobile and Zomato. Other apps can be downloaded from the Android market.
On the connectivity front, iBall Slide has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and 3G on Data card through USB (to be purchased separately). It has a 4400 mAh battery which according to the company will provide up to 6.5 hours of music playback and 5 hours of video playback and will be available in black colour.
iBall Slide's competitors in the Indian tablet market include Reliance 3G tab (for Rs 12,999), Beetel Teletech's 'Beetel Magiq' (for Rs 9,999), Mercury's mTab (for Rs 9,499), S Mobility's Mi-720 (for Rs 11,990) and G'Five's soon to be launched tablet.
