HTC Unveils Two New Windows 7.5 Mango Powered Smartphones

HTC has announced two new smartphones code-named HTC Radar and HTC Titan. Both the mobile phones run on the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system and will most probably be launched next month in Europe and Asia. Here's a look at the features of the two smartphones.

HTC Titan (Earlier code named HTC Eternity)

The mobile phone has a 4.7 inch touchscreen display (480×800 pixel resolution) and it runs on the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset (which is even powerful than the soon to be launched Samsung Galaxy Note) and it has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 16GB.

It comes with an 8 mega pixel rear camera with dual LED flash and BSI sensor (for better low-light captures) that can record high definition videos at 720p. A 1.3 mega pixel front facing camera is also provided for video calling. It also has GPS with support for Bing Maps and HTC Locations.

The dimensions of the device are 131.5mm x 70.7mm x 9.9mm and its weight is 160 grams. The device has a 1,600 mAh battery that according to HTC will provide up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 460 hours of standby time.

HTC Radar

Unlike Titan, HTC Radar has a modest 3.8 inch touchscreen display (480×800 pixel resolution) but it is also powered by the Windows Phone 7.5 Mango operating system. It runs on a 1GHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM8255 chipset (similar to Titan, but Titan's processor is 1.5GHz) and it has 512MB of RAM. The internal memory of the device is 8GB.

It comes with a 5 mega pixel rear camera with dual LED flash and BSI sensor (like Titan) that can record high definition videos at 720p. A front facing VGA camera is also provided for video calling. Like Titan, this device also has a GPS antenna and has Bing Maps and HTC Locations.

The dimensions of the device are 120.5mm x 61.5mm x 10.9mm and its weight is 137 grams. The device has a 1,520 mAh battery that according to HTC, will provide up to 8 hours of talk time and up to 480 hours of standby time.

The pricing of both the devices are not yet available but it could easily exceed Rs 30,000 for Titan while Radar should be priced around the Rs 20,000 mark. Titan's direct competitors will include Samsung's Galaxy Note and the new iPhone while HTC Radar will compete in the mid-range segment of mobile handsets.
