Cheil's India Planning Director Naresh Gupta Joins iYogi

Gurgaon-based iYogi, a provider of on-demand technical support to consumers and small business owners, has roped in Naresh Gupta of Korea-headquartered ad agency Chiel Worldwide. Naresh Gupta was the national planning director, India, Cheil Worldwide Southwest Asia.

Afaqs has reported he has joined as its Chief Strategy Officer. The company has, however, not confirmed the news to Techcircle.in.

This is the latest in a line of top-level hires at the start-up and the second collateral hire from Cheil Worldwide, SW Asia. In March, the company hired Prathap Suthan as its Chief Creative Officer. Suthan was previously the National Creative Director of Cheil Worldwide, SW Asia.

IYogi also roped in Harpreet Bhinder, the India Business Unit head at Hewitt Associates, in April, as its Senior Vice President, Channel Services. Binder previously managed a 1600 strong team across three locations and servicing clients in the US, Canada, United Kingdom and APAC for Hewitt. Prior to that, he was employed at Hewlett Packard, Spectramind, Progeon and Tata Teleservices.

IYogi currently services consumers and small businesses in United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. The company has raised $57.6 million totally in four rounds of funding, the latest being a $30 million from Sequoia Capital India in December 2010. IYogi is also backed by Canaan, SVB Capital Partners, SAP Ventures and Draper Fisher Jurvetson. It is learnt to be planning an IPO.
