Global contextual online advertising network Affinity has set up shop in India, and it has hired Karan Gupta, formerly of online advertising agency Digital Law & Kenneth, as managing director.
Affinity, a subsidiary of leading hosting company Hostway Corporation, claims to have a high performance contextual advertising technology "that finds the right context for over 75,000 brands across the globe to initiate talking points". And these talking points culminate into - traffic, leads, sales, downloads, conversions, engagement and so on, according to the company website.
Affinity works with over 25,000 plus partner syndication channels and in-house web properties, the website adds. The contextual channels include search, toolbars, In-text, and domain parking.
In his previous roles, Gupta has worked with clients like Skoda, Renault, ITC Ltd., Aircel, Lodha Group, ICICI Bank and HCC Ltd.
As the Indian advertising market is taking off, many international agencies are looking at the country. Recently, the affiliate marketing firm OMG set up a subsidiary in India.
