Google Appoints Ex-Sun TV COO Ajay Vidyasagar As Regional Director

Ajay Vidyasagar, who quit as COO at Sun TV Network in February, has joined Internet giant Google as its regional director, afaqs reports.

Vidyasagar will be based in Singapore and will head YouTube and video solutions at Google in Japan and the Asia-Pacific, including China and India. He will report in to Shailesh Rao, managing director, Google India.

According to his Linkedin profile, Vidyasagar joined the Sun TV Network in June 2009. For 13 years, he was at the helm of STAR India Pvt Ltd as President. Vidyasagar's career began as a group account director at Ogilvy & Mather and in 1993 he became the group account manager at Ogilvy Advertising in Bangalore.

Top level recent hires at Google India include Guneet Singh as Lead, Consumer Marketing and Rajan Anandan, who joined as its India MD.
