Web Products & Services Co Langoor Forays Into India
Sydney-based web services and products company Langoor has forayed into India and plans to setup an R&D Center in Bangalore.
The services offered by Langoor are divided into four basic categories which are - website design and development, digital marketing and strategy, branding and visual design and custom online systems and application development. Langoor has a clientele list of companies like Investa Property Group, Indian Link, NSW Government, Statecraft, Market Timing and Aguacate & Co.
Founded by Ruchir Punjabi, Langoor was launched in 2009 and is his third venture. Punjabi is also the Founding Chair of the Australia India Business Council NSW Young Professionals.
"India is a very attractive market, where the potential of web services and products is just exploding," said Ruchir Punjabi at the launch of Langoor in India.
Indian Expansion Plans
Langoor currently employs 12 and plans to ramp up the workforce at the Bangalore center to 20 employees by end of 2011.
The company plans to launch Langoor.net in India; which is a self-service platform for creating websites and also a one stop shop for domains, e-mail, hosting and websites. It opens avenues for SMEs and startups to create a professional web presence. On the other hand, Langoor opens a unique opportunity for developers to integrate plug-ins and themes into Langoor.net and receive a share on revenue, based on downloads and usage.
On the launch, Ruchir Punjabi said, "India represents a $100 million market opportunity which is growing at 25% annually. This opportunity is upwards $100 billion globally. Both market spaces are largely unorganized, we believe we are creating products that consumers want and would be uniquely positioned to organize the market and set benchmarks for website creation and management with our product Langoor.net. We are also looking forward to opening the platform to developers and designers to facilitate a web app-store via Langoor.net."
The company is also looking to bootstrap the website retail business in India. Service providers and web services outfits can re-brand langoor.net with their label and service their clients, supported entirely on Langoor's infrastructure. The company delivers a functional website in 5 easy steps from signing up to adding and publishing content.
The website builder offers an easy to use drag & drop interface, in-line editing (which is editing without going to a different page or text box), instant display of output, internal features and themes store (with many third party programmers and designers), one-click install features and themes and a diligent fellow user's team to review and provide online support. The platform also offers pay-as- you- go plans.
The company is also working on other products such as Langoor.mobi and Langoor.IT, the first one being a website creation and management platform for websites optimized for mobile while Langoor.IT looks at the technical end of the website business and is planning to support the infrastructure needs of website designers and developers in India.
Langoor will see stiff competition from BigRock founded by Bhavin Turakhia, Net4 India founded by Jasjit Sawhney and other Indian brands in this space.
