iPad 2 To Be Released In India, 11 Other Countries On April 29

Its official. Apple's iPad 2 will be launched in India on April 29, in addition to 11 other countries, according to an official release. The tablet will be available in Japan from April 28 onwards, while it will be launched in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, India, Israel, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, South Africa, Turkey and United Arab Emirates on Friday. Additionally, iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in China beginning Friday, May 6.

The suggested retail price for the 16GB model is $499, for the 32GB model $599 and for the 64GB model $699. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 for the 16GB model, $729 for the 32GB model and $829 for the 64GB model.

iPad 2 features a new design that is 33 per cent thinner and up to 15 per cent lighter than the original iPad, while maintaining the same 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen. It features Apple's new dual-core A5 processor, two cameras, a front-facing VGA camera, and a rear-facing camera that captures 720p HD video. It also claims to deliver up to 10 hours of battery life.
