ICICI, HDFC Banks Top Online Banking Providers In March 2011: Vizisense
ICICI Bank recorded 5.9 million online visitors while HDFC Bank received 5.7 million and SBI had 4.42 million online visitors during March, 2011, according to Alootechie.
According to a survey by online audience measurement platform ViziSense, State Bank of India witnessed the maximum time spent by users in non-metros whereas HDFC Bank and Citibank scored high in metros. The online banking category has grown by over 35 % over the last year, the company has said.
The survey was from a sample of 4000 online users who were part of the ViziSense India panel of over 1,25,000 users. Data was collated on user activity on websites of both private and public sector banks such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Citibank, State Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra and Punjab National Bank.
HDFC Bank, according to the report, witnesses highest repeat visits by a user in a month (7 visits) while users typically visit State Bank of India casino online website 5 times and ICICI Bank 4 times per month. Vizisense platform is owned and managed by Komli Media India Pvt. Ltd., a digital media advertising network. Amit Bhartiya, GM - ViziSense, said, "Given reduced transactional costs and higher reach through online banking, banks have been highly successful in getting a significant chunk of their urban user base to engage with their online properties. Higher adoption of online banking will fuel rapid growth of ecommerce and online payments in India."
