Bharti Airtel Partners Zoomin For Photo Service
Bharti Airtel's broadband division has partnered with Mumbai-based ZoomIn India, an online digital photo printing and merchandise company.
The two firms have launched Airtel Photo Service, whereby users of Airtel broadband connections can store an unlimited number of photos online as well as buy personalised products and gifts with photos printed on them. The service will also allow you to import your photos from Facebook and organise them in folders.
Zoomin.com, like HP's Snapfish.in, Shutterfly Inc, allows users to store, share, and print their digital photos onto mugs, calendars, tee-shirts etc. You can also order a photo book. There are other such global and domestic sites and services too - Myntra.com, Printo and iTasveer.com. Indiatimes also has a store for photo products where mugs start from Rs 240, a key chain for Rs 145 and printed tee shirts for Rs 325. The merchandising and photo printing market targets the 11.47 million broadband users (as of February 2011, TRAI statistics) in India.
Founded in May 2007, Zoomin is backed by early stage investment firms Sherpalo Ventures and First Round Capital, which is also an investor in StumbleUpon. It currently ships to India, the US, UK and Canada and has offline retail studios in partnership with Crossword bookstores in Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata and Chennai. At these studios, visitors can purchase the same range of print products that are available online.
Pricing
Users can order products such as photobooks, mugs and t-shirts. A coffee mug is priced at Rs 250, a desktop calendar is priced at Rs. 295 and tee shirts at Rs 395. A full list of prices per product is available here.
