Hemant Somani Is Mint COO; Sandeep Bhushan VP Digital At Firefly

The business daily by HT Media -  Mint - has appointed ex Akzo Nobel marketing head Hemant Somani as its new Chief Operating Officer.

Somani is in charge of the newspaper's daily operations and will develop the marketing strategy for the company, Exchange4Media reports.

Somani was previously heading marketing at Akzo Nobel/ Dulux Paints. Somani replaces Sandeep Bhushan (Linkedin profile here), who is now the VP Digital at a sister company Firefly E-Ventures, the internet arm of HT Media Ltd. Bhushan now manages HT Media's web properties Hindustantimes.com and Livemint.com and the job portal Shine.com.

Prior to heading being Mint's COO, Bhushan was its Marketing Head and managed its brand equity, portfolio management across media formats, communication development and activation and one of his specialties is monetisation of media properties.
