Swapan Seth Launches Digital Advertising Agency ThisContent
After building Equus Red Cell from scratch, marketing and advertising entrepreneur Swapan Seth has now established another startup.
Seth's new company ThisContent will help brands manage social media conversations, afaqs reports. He continues to hold the post of co-CEO of Equus Red Cell, which he founded with his brother Suhel Seth. The global advertising services conglomerate WPP owns a 30% stake in Red Cell. Over the years, Red Cell has bagged clients such as Max New York Life, Kingfisher Airlines, Whyte & Mackay, Taj Hotels, VLCC, ABN Amro, Tulip IT, Forest Essentials, DCB and ABN Amro Bank.
Digital advertising in India is steadily growing as a standalone market. According to ZenithOptimedia, it is expected to grow at 13–15% per annum between 2011 and 2013. The total projected market size by 2013 is $7,548 million.
Recent developments in the sector indicate increased interest in new media. Consider Publicis Groupe's acquisition of Watermelon Healthcare Communications Pvt Ltd, a healthcare advertising agency in Mumbai. Watermelon offers strategic planning, digital, branding and creative services as well as research, public relations, and consumer communications. Japanese advertising firm Dentsu Inc. has also acquired its three India joint ventures with Mogae Consultants.
Hyderabad-based Ybrant Digital continues with its acquisition strategy, raising $48 million from Oak India Investments and its existing investors Asia Pacific Capital and ICICI Bank in January to develop new technology and expand further. Ignitee Digital Solutions is also focused on the digital media space and recently bagged Warner Bros as a client for social media marketing.
