Viacom18 COO Rajesh Kamat To Join CA Media as India CEO
Digital marketing agency CA Media has roped in Rajesh Kamat, the Chief Operating officer at Viacom 18 Media Pvt Ltd, the joint venture between global media and entertainment network Viacom Inc and Network 18 Group in India.
According to an afaqs report, Kamat will join Peter Chernin's company CA Media as its India CEO. CA Media is a digital media advertising firm for businesses in China, India and Indonesia. It was set up by the US based Chernin Group in November 2010 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.
Viacom18 operates Colors, one of the top Hindi general entertainment channels as well as youth and lifestyle channel MTV India and music channel VH1, production house Studio18 and Nick, a kids channel. At Viacom18, Kamat reported into Haresh Chawla, the chief executive of Viacom18 Group and was responsible for the running and operations of all the channels as well as launching Sun18, a joint venture with Sun TV Network. He was also the CEO of Colors. Kamat will remain at Viacom18 till June.
Peter Chernin, the founder of The Chernin Group and CA Media, was previously the President and Chief Operating Officer of media conglomerate News Corporation, and has also headed Fox Entertainment Group as its Chairman and CEO. Investors in CA Media include Aiello, Allen & Company LLC, Brookside Capital (an affiliate of Bain Capital), Gordon Crawford and Kimberly Querrey.
