Lukup: Another Interactive Ad Firm Joins The Fray
There's VDopia , Jivox, and now Lukup joins them in the fast growing interactive ad segment. Lukup is a Bangalore-based startup that was set up in 2009 and offers a unique software platform for broadcasters and TV operators.
Exchange4media reports that it has 15 advertisers signed on with the company including Homeshop18. Apparently the ads run like any other 10 second spots but with a "hotspot", so interested TV viewers can hit a button on an ad and will be taken to a separate page with details of the product and a button to request for a call back.
(If you want to see what an interactive video ad is, there are some examples on Brainent's site and Jivox's.)
With Lukup, broadcasters can promote shows with ads, interactive games, polls and downloads. Operators and set top box providers now have another monetisation route and ad agencies can avail of Lukup's tool to create targeted ads, schedule TV spots and analyse the effect of their promotions.
In related news, Jivox, which is also based in Bangalore, will now deliver ads for MMI Online, the online division of Jagran Prakashan Group. Jivox will help monetise the company's websites such as Videos.Jagran.com and Jagran.yahoo.com, Alootechie reported. In the recent budget session, Jivox ads were shown during the live streaming on IBNLive.com. Other firms that offer digital campaign management platforms for TV advertisers include Vubites, SureWaves and Amagi.
