MTNL, BSNL Lost 2.3L Customers In A Month

Number portability has come with significant churn for both MTNL and BSNL. MNP, or Mobile Number Portability, services were launched in January 2011, and in just a month MTNL and BSNL have collectively lost 2,34,179 subscribers (see chart).

The main reasons for porting out include network and coverage issues, as well as problems with tariff, said the minister of state for Communications & Information Technology, Sachin Pilot, replying to a question on the Lok Sabhha on Wednesday.
